A NORTH WOODS NATIVITY--This one-of-a-kind nativity scenes was carved by Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarvers' Association member, Royall Sams. It was inspired both by his many trips to America's most beautiful woodlands, and by his desire to present the majestic Christmas Story from a true outdoorsman's unique perspective. Great job, Royall!

HAPPY NEW YEAR; WELCOME TO 2022
WHEW; 2021 is finally behind us! Will this year be any better? It depends. Maybe a new perspective is in order. Too many of us have lost friends, neighbors, work associates--even spouses to poor health, and other causes. As a nation we're too uptight for our own good, perhaps a little too self-involved to see others struggling around us.
There are times when we all struggle with hardship of one kind or another. It transcends race religion, social status, poverty and wealth. Today, we've become a society that is too calloused, one that can't look another in the eye, and greet that person with a warm, sincere "Good Morning," and a smile that says we mean it.
What if we all just decide to get on with life and reintroduce Kindness and Caring for those around us.

Eastern Oklahoma Woodcarver member, Mike Stephenson decided to replicate his dad, Jim's excellent whimsical carving of old Bossy (left). He's got a great start as seen on the right. Both father and son are longtime members of the EOWA. Their know-how and willingness to assist beginning carvers are part of the reason for why folks attend our weekly free carve-in's.
RE: THE 2021 EOWA CHRISTMAS PARTY!
If you plan to attend the EOWA Christmas party/meeting December 8 and will need liquid refreshment, then you need to bring your own beverage. There is a vending machine available on premises. EOWA will not be able to provide the usual cider refreshment because the club tureen is not to be located. As noted in the newsletter there will be a gift exchange so if you wish to participate bring a hand-made or inexpensive gift. If your partner/significant other is attending and wishes to participate bring an exchangeable for them also.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Attention Woodcarvers Everywhere!
If you have a carving you're proud of, send it our way. Tell us your name, where you're from, the wood you used, and we'll display it on our site. We are a shrinking Community, but by sharing our styles and information, hopefully we can stem the tide of attrition. Send your photo as a j.peg or PDF file. Remember to keep the file size small since web limitations are in place. Send to kscriv1@cox.net
