What a shame if you missed our recent Woodcarvers & Folk Art Festival in Tulsa, OK. For the first time in 39 years, our organization invited some twenty other art genres to join us under one roof so the public and exhibitors alike could embrace and celebrate the amazing artistic expression of the human spirit. We celebrate it enthusiastically, and believe that it can flourish as we support and encourage each other.
We are especially proud of our association with the Oklahoma Arts Council, and the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa this year. and believe it signals new growth and opportunity here in our fair city.
The Eastern Oklahoma WOODCARVERS Association
The EOWA was founded in 1974 by Bill Babb, Jim Harrison, Oran Hoover, Jim Milton and George Turner and his wife. Dues were $3 a year. Since that time, the EOWA has grown in both numbers and reputation for developing members into award-winning woodcarvers. Our goal is to continue this tradition to promote the art of woodcarving as an elegant art form, and attract young people to this unique creative expression. Come join us each Thursday evening at the Central Center at Centennial Park at 1028 East 6th Street, Tulsa, OK. We welcome your comments and/or questions about our activities. Please send them to us at P. O. Box 34, Broken Arrow, OK, 74013.
The monthly meeting is held at Central Center from 7-9 p.m. on the second Monday each month. Annual family membership dues are $30. Members receive the monthly EOWA Newsletter via e-mail, and use of the club library available at our monthly meetings. The EOWA is affiliated with the National Woodcarvers Association.
FYI, speakers and demonstrations are available to civic/service groups, church & youth groups, and boys and girls service organizations in the greater Tulsa area, free of charge. Weekly carve-ins are also available each Thursday evening free to the public, (see the map below for location).

Welcome! We hope you will spend some time on our site and explore the wonderful world of wood carving.
The 2016 Carvers & Folk Arts Festival's Featured Artist was Betty, Zumwalt ( pictured above) with some of her remarkable lathe-turned pieces, which she intricately carved after the turning process. Her donated creations have raised thousands of dollars for a local food bank to help the area's poor in the past few years. We're proud of you, Betty!
